Pd-102 Information

Palladium is a soft white ductile transition element. It is found with some copper and nickel ores. Palladium does not react with oxygen at normal temperatures. This element dissolves slowly in hydrochloric acid. Palladium was discovered by W.H. Wollaston in 1803. Palladium has 39 isotopes. 7 of them are naturally occurring, 6 of which are stable.

Palladium is used as a substitute for silver in dental items and jewelry. The pure metal is used as the delicate mainsprings in analog wristwatches. Also palladium is used in surgical instruments and as catalyst.
