Mercury-204 Information

Mercury is a heavy silvery liquid metallic element, belongs to the zinc group. It is used in thermometers, barometers and other scientific apparatus. This element is less reactive than zinc and cadmium, it does not displace hydrogen from acids. Mercury forms a number of complexes and organomercury compounds. Unlike its lighter neighbors, cadmium and zinc, mercury usually forms simple stable compounds with metal-metal bonds. Mercury has 47 isotopes, 7 of them are stable and naturally occurring.

Mercury is used in thermometers, barometers, and batteries. It is also used in electrical switches and mercury-vapor lighting products.
