130Te Information

Tellurium is a silvery metalloid element of group 16. 39 isotopes of tellurium are known. 8 of them are natural ones, 6 of which are stable. Tellurium is used in semiconductors and to a degree in some steels. This element is similar to sulphur chemically. Tellurium was discovered by Franz Miller in 1782.

Tellurium is used to improve the machining quality of copper and stainless steel products and to color glass and ceramics. Also it is used in thermoelectric devices. Some compounds of tellurium are used in the rubber industry. Tellurium is a basic ingredient in manufacturing blasting caps.
