Rubidium-85 Information

Rubidium is a soft silvery metallic element, belongs to group 1 of the periodic table. It has 32 isotopes, 2 of them are naturally occurring. Rb-87, one of the naturally occurring isotope, is radioactive. It is highly reactive, with properties similar to other elements in group 1, like igniting spontaneously in air. Rubidium was discovered spectroscopically by W. Bunsen and G.R. Kirchoff in 1861.

Rubidium is used as a catalyst, photocells, and in vacuum and cathode-ray tubes.
