Gallium Information

Gallium is a soft silvery metallic element, belongs to group 13 of the periodic table. Gallium has 31 isotopes. There are two natural isotopes of gallium: Ga-69 and Ga-71, and they are stable. Gallium Arsenide is used as a semiconductor. It corrodes most other metals by diffusing into their lattice. Gallium was identified firstly by Francois Lecoq de Boisbaudran in 1875.

Gallium is used in semiconductor production. It also used in making LEDs (light-emitting diodes) and GaAs laser diodes.
